Pacific Towing holds a special place in PNG’s modern maritime history. Founded in 1977 and operating as single tug ‘Jas Hill’ at the Port of Lae, the company’s ownership and structure has changed several times. Joint ventures with international companies imparted considerable expertise and diverse skill sets enabling it to purchase many more vessels, operate out of multiple PNG ports and diversify its product offering beyond towage and salvage.
In 2013 Pacific Towing set up its Solomon Islands’ business and five years later a Fiji business followed. Today, Pacific Towing services not just PNG, Solomon Islands and Fiji but countries throughout Oceania and South East Asia.
A well-maintained fleet of 21 vessels and a dedicated and exceptionally trained team of 200+ staff underpin Pacific Towing’s ongoing expansion and success.
